2' Lowering Kits?

Sup all, was wondering how to lower my truck 2" in rear. I read alot about people having pinion problems after just putting , like a 2'" shackle kit on without using the shim.

So i call my local "truck accesories " place they said they have a 2" belltech kit that dont require shim, Now i dont normaly trust these guys at these places most of them are just part changers dont really know what their doing, So has anyone done this or had any problems .

They kit i was looking at is a G-force one , its the only one that shows that it comes with shims.

Tks

i ordered one myself, but after i read more about it, it said for 2 1/2" rear springs. i have 3" wide rear springs. so i took mine off, cut them inhalf and added 2" to them and the rear end was still the same height. i don't know since i have the towing package on mine, that i need to add more to it. but, no, i heard that if you are just going 2", you don't need to shim it.

I can't remember the brand, but my first set of lowering shackles did NOT have the shim, and I did get a vibe. I returned that kit (Stylin' Trucks) and ordered the G-Force kit w/ shims, and all was well.

you want a kit with a shim. Shims by them selves retail 30-40 a piece from alignment shops. spend the extra money and do it right.

I think it's part number Ground Force 91200 for the 2" drop shackle and shim kit.

From: LOUISIANA,
Tks for reply's. Yea im going to order the g-force one tonight, The truck right now looks like i have the air shocks aired up all the way. I have 5'inches from tire to fender on front and 9 1/2 on back, even when i pull my trailer it only drops down to 8 1/2. =)

I am going to revive this dead thread. I just bought an 08 and was looking at the Ground Force 91200 but you guys say its for the 2.5" wide springs and I think mine has the 3" as well. Is there a kit for the 3"?

My truck now sit's 5" in front and 7 1\2 in the rear.

Try and get some pics up.

I just installed the GF shackles on Saturday. The entire installation took less than 2 hours. I had a slight vibration in the rear and I thought it was a balance issue. After installing the GF kit and shims the vibration is completely gone.

my gf shackles have 2 different holes to use. im guessing one set is for 2" drop and the other for 1" drop...? my question is, if i only use the 1" holes do i still need the shims?
