Stock 4x4 5.4 vs 4.6 height

Are 4x4 5.4's and 4.6's the same height stock. Just wanting to know cause I'm lifting my 4.6. Will a 6 inch on the 4.6 look just as high as they do on the5.4's?

I kind of want to avoid regearing? Is that bad. I'm adding the new 4.6 volant intake and either some roush or banks cat back. Shouldn't that make up for the 35's?

if you had the 5.4 you would be OK. but with the 4.6 you are going to lose alot of low end torque and your fuel milage will suck. intake and exhaust wont help much on low end. id either stick with 33s or put in some 4.56 gears and 35s. that is just my opinion you could get away with 35s and no gears on a 4.6 i just wouldnt like the power loss.

I have 33.5"s basically on the 4.2L with 3.55s... My power dropped substantially. Can't wait to regear. I imagine that the 4.6 and 35s would be similar.

I had a 2006 4.6 with a 6in lift and 35's and power loss wasn't bad with a TUNE , CORSA Exhaust and K&N. It was the fact that the GAS MILEAGE SUCKED.....I went from 15 in the city to 10.....Now I jsut purchased a 08 5.4 and I'm in the middle of switching everything over..

I have 35's and a 4.6L. I have not re-geared yet and my truck is fine. I can still burn out, fling mud, and shoot huge rooster tails. I still am able to get people "un-stuck" . Not saying I won't regear, but its not something you NEED immediately. I will be going with some 4.88's here in the real near future.

and yes, gas mileage will suck. If you want good MPG, get a little car.

Markou: so, your switching everything over ay ? Does that mean you now have two F150's ? ? If you swap you lift over, what are you going to do with the old 06 ? I'm just curious

When you say burnout, what xactly do you mean. My 5.4 with 33.5" tires with edge set on level 3 cant hardly spin a tire. I have 3.73 LS also. Do you have LS or an open diff? Just wondering because if I had 35's I know I couldnt spin a tire.

I'm sorry, I guess I shoulda been more clear. By burn out, I meant stand on my brakes and floor it. Eventually your rear will spin. Yes, I have 3.73 LS. I only did it once, it was a stupid "can I?" moment. Had a buddy with his big **** dodge... and I guess my pride took over. I wouldn't suggest doin this, its hell on your drivetrain.
But no, my truck doesn't smokes the tires when i floor it.
