Adjustable camber bolts or not?

Ok i've been reading on here whether I need my camber/caster adjusted after installing my 2" level kit. From what i've read, it appears most alignment shops just want to hit you for the extra cash and you shouldn't need it adjusted. One guy even quoted from someone that works for Auto Spring that they've installed thousands of these kits and they've never had to adjust the camber/caster on one of them. He said the alignment shops are just trying to screw people. Did you guys have yours adjusted or just the toe-in/toe out?

I think he is asking whether or not he needs adjustable camber bolts, which he probably doesn't.

My right toe was off 3/4" of a degree after my Quick Lift install. That's it.

The toe was adjusted, and you will need an alignment after a leveling kit install.

And yes, that was enough to warrant an alignment.

I know the toe will be off but i'm trying to figure out if a camber adjustment is necessary so the guys at the alignment shop don't try to screw me.

Do they charge a flat rate for an alignment? If so, I don't see how they could screw you.

I'd try to find a shop that charges a flat rate if they don't.

x2. Hourly rate for an alignment is very unusual around here.

You might also want to consider that your caster/camber could have been off before you added your leveling kit.

The alignment shop should be able to adjust your camber/caster without you having to buy new ones. If they give you crap you should take your truck to another shop.

I was under the impression the newer fords don't have adjustable camber bolts which is why if the camber needs adusting, you have to buy adjustable camber bolts and the price jumps from $60 to $170.

You might be on to something... I just did a search and found several threads about this issue. One of the threads had a link to the cam kit and it's a lot less than $110.

Here's a link to the kit.

Screw the alignment! Why would a company make a product that could end up causing damage to other components unless you make other adjustments? That's just silly, surely that type of company would go out of business.
