Real Life Experiance

I have a 2005 Fx4....... As it sits It has a 2.5 AS leveling kit and 315/70/17's with minor rubbing at full lock........

I am going to be doing a 6" lift this spring and am trying to decide what I want.....

Money is an object here, I work construction so its a daily driver. So, please no".....Just get an 8" Rize......"

I have read alot on here about Fabtech and ProComp, CST, RCD, Rize.....etc...

Theres alot on here about angles and not stacking spacers........

My question is this:
Would a Fabtech 6" with a 2" leveling kit on front
and
Fabtech 6" with Dirt Logics cranked 2"

sit at the same height?
Would the angles be the same?

I guess I'm unclear as to why its bad to put a leveling kit on with a lift, but it's OK to crank coil over up 2"...
Wouldnt the angles be the same?

Yes, a standard 6 inch Fabtech and a 2 inch leveling kit would sit at the same height and have the same ball joint/CV joint angles as a 6 inch Fabtech and the Dirt Logic coilovers cranked up 2 inches.

Good question Sylent. The above answer is correct. So if you are not doing hard core off roading and mostly keep it on the road, save yourself 600$ and get the basic lift with the spacers and rear 5" blocks. Thats the route Im going I believe unless someone can convince me it is a bad idea.

But I guess when you see it written out like that, 600$ doesnt seem like a lot for a much better kit....Man, I hate making decisions. Course, 600$ will buy you a new set of 18" wheels too i suppose.

I went with the Basic lift kit and love it. i do off-road and have had no problems with the "basic" shocks. They do great and ride pretty darn smooth. I too would say go with the basic Fabtech lift and use a spacer if you want. I am running 35" tires so no need for a spacer. You could also use the $600 you save to purchase some new Upper Control Arms from Camburg or total chaos. Either one replaces the ball joint with a uni-ball allowing for more flew and making it handle the severe angles of leveling kits and cranked coil-overs MUCH better !

I myself would get the stage 2 with the DL's mainly because they are just sweet. You wont regret that choice, but you may regret not getting the nicer setup.
