I just put a 3" level kit on my 04 Screw FX4 and now it sits dead level. I've got a set of Nitto Terra's 295/70/17 on stock rims. I think it looks good now. I could probably fit something a little bigger, but it looks good to me. I'm planning on posting pics later this week when I get back from deer- slaughtering.( Here lately it's just been deer- sitting in the stand not seeing anything.)

putting the leveling kit up front alone with nothin in the rear will put you level. adding a 3" block in the rear will put you back to step 1 (azz end up). if you have a 4x4, with a leveling kit you can do 35's on stock wheels. with a 4x2 you can do 33's.

I've heard some are nose high with 3", but I'm excactly level with the 3". I've got 40.25 inches from the ground to the top of all 4 wheelwells. Maybe someone else can chime in on if FX4's and Lariat's have any small difference in height.

The most popular leveling kit is Autospring and they run for about 100 bucks.

Also, I'd stick with a 2.5 inch leveling kit.

i think we means replacing the rear block, which is 2 inches and putting in a 3 inch block. or doesnt he have a 4x4? if thats what he means that would be perfect stance with the rear end 1" higher.

I went with a 2 1/2" leveling kit on my '04 and it leveled it perfectly because the rear sat so high from the factory. I'm at 40-1/8th inches to the top of the wheelwell flare in the front and 40-1/2 inches in the rear. Clear's 35" tires easily in the front if they are on the right wheels.

whats the big deal with leveling kits anyways???? My truck looks ok the way it came from the factory. Just looking for opinions and advice.

I also heard from other members that leveling kits are hard on Tierod ends and CV Boots???

It lifts the front to fit bigger tires and gives the truck a "level" stance. Just keep in mind it throws all of the front end CV's and BJ's all out of wack and really increases the wear and tear on these items. It is the half-assed answer to a lift IMO
