2wd w custom spacer + blocks = PRERUNNER w 315/70-17 tires. pics inside!

Like the title says. I don't know if it's been done before, but i wanted to end up with the look of a "leveled" factory 4wd.

First let me start by saying thank you to Auto Spring Kits for custom building the front spacers.

I orderd 2 3/8 inch thick custom spacers and 1 1/2 inch rear blocks from them. prices were great, great customer service and fast delivery.

The "leveling" threads have been done plenty of times so i'll just concentrate on what i did differently from the regular leveling kits.

The 2wd and the 4wd trucks are nearly the same. The obvious difference is the drivetrain. The suspension on a Factory 4wd is nearly the same as well. The main differences are a 1 1/2" block out back and longer struts up front. this is the reason for the custom spacers, to make up the difference between the factory 2wd and 4wd.

here's the spacer:

the whole kit:

pics of my custom spacer install

Here is the front lifted, as you can see by the pic, the front is now taller than the rear:

Rear suspension before:

Rear with 1 1/2" block in place:

note: with a jack stand placed on the leaf itself and near the axle, i found i did not have to remove the rear shock at all in order to get the block in place. Follow the instructions suggestion to only do one side at a time.

Truck pics after the custom spacer install

Here she is with just the lift, I'm about to go to the tire shop, note the size difference of the tires:

AFTER!!

It does an excellent "leveled" 4wd impression. Not bad for 291 a month! I’ll try and get some pics of her up next to some local 4wds running around town…. And I promise I’ll give her a wash.

How much lift did you net in the front? That's a thick spacer. 2.5" kits are 1.75". Watch your ball joints!

I'm guessing he's calling it a pre runner because it's a 2wd...but it looks nothing like a pre runner.

Good looking truck though, good job.

update

just a quick update, the front seems to have settled down just a bit...like mabey 1/2 inch at the most. It drives good down the road but it now seems "underdamped"

To answer the question about the front upper arm; Just like those guys running a "leveled" factory 4x4: it comes close... but doesn't touch. I'll get some angle shots for you later.

But it does look a lot better. Nice job.

Looks good, but why not just go with a full suspension lift? Just asking because I dont know what the difference would be, still learning a lot.

this is way cheaper and he may not want the full suspension height.
