full lift

That pic by MudTerrain is one Bad Ash prerunner.

I bought the truck is an RCO (kind of lease) and the payment is only 291 a month. Not bad for a new 2007 crew cab. I needed the family room so I got rid of my 99 regular cab 4x4 that I’ve had since new to fit my growing family.

I haven’t decided if I'm going to turn it in at the 24 month mark or go ahead and finish paying it down. That being the case, I didn't/couldn't go crazy with the suspension in case i decide to turn it in.

Sorry about the "Prerunner" in the topic heading, it was meant to be an ATTENTION GETTER, so that others can see what can be done when you "wish I would have bought/afford a 4x4." I was only trying to help, not make my truck out into something that it isn't.

I'll get to those other pics that have been requested and post them up later.

small update.

truck does feel a bit under-damped, but other than that it drives just as before, also, i havn't seen much of a difference in the gas used per week.

All these AS and AAS spacers are making me crazy... Cuz I will have to get new tires... Cannot wait until my Pircrappies need replacing.

toyota does the same thing, they sell the tacoma prerunner model which is a two wheel drive with adjustments to the suspension to give it the exact same ride height/feel of a four wheel drive model tacoma without the 4x4 powertrain or price tag...so i think his title was pretty much on target

Sounds like you got exactly what you wanted. Nice job!

BTW - I just bought the same set of jack stands. Sears?

some answers

Ball joint angles are ok. Actually, the ball joints themselves can handle more angle than the suspension will allow. In doing some research, it turns out the problem with the increased angle is the cv joints on the 4x4s, not the ball joints.

Jlstang351. Yes, you still have to take the struts out on a 2wd in order to install the spacer. I tried to just take the tops out, but there was simply no way without removing the lower bolt.

South ms sprcru. YOU ARE WRONG everyone else at the beginning of the post is right, it’s not a pre-runner.

051fdrof. Yes, the 3 ton jack stands from sears. I wanted to show how well they fit the 3” wide leaf springs these trucks have. Put them close to the axle and no shock removal or tire removal is necessary for the rear blocks.

Are you still running this setup? Can you get some pictures of your balljoints now? Also, could you describe "under-dampened"? Too much bounce? Like riding on solid suspension?

Can you tell us how much increase you got in front and back?

just an update, turned my lease in, almost 2 years, no problems whatsoever. I'll try and get some take down pics up along with the differences.
