I dont think youll be wrong with either, the 88 appears to come with more though...

89B

88B

I cant really see any differences that would be notable, someone with a closer eye can probably be more help though...

The only thing I found is the difference in the primary front lift component.

89 - Steering knuckle
88 - Spindle

Still not sure which is my best option.

The difference is in the brake lines.

RS6588 is for 2004 F-150's with a build date thru 11/29/04.

RS6589 is for F-150's built Dec 2004 and later.

And 4wheelparts.com has a 10% off sale with free shipping right now, so it would be cheaper to get it through them rather than Summit. I just picked up the kit from them about two weeks ago for my 2006. Just waiting to get tires before I install it.

Thanks! Looking at pics of your truck actually led me to the decision to get the kit. Has exactly the stance I'm looking for. I'm pretty sure I read that you installed it yourself.... any tips since I'll be installing mine too? I've read the directions a few times and have put a lift on my cousin's dodge for him before, and this kit looks pretty easy, but was there anything that slowed you up? I probably won't install it until late March or April because I have a few other projects taking up my time in the garage. I don't know if I'll be able to hold out much longer though!

If you've got experience installing a lift already than I'm sure you won't have much of a problem. The only thing that slowed me down was doing it by myself (a second set of hands will be much more helpful at times) and the lack of air tools.

I had never installed a lift before and was able to do it, so if you've got some experience and the tools needed that are listed in the instructions, then I'm sure you can tackle it no problem.

If you get stuck along the way, send me a message and maybe I can try to help you out a bit

I ordered my kit last winter too, planning on installing it in the spring. I could only handle waiting for about 2 weeks so I installed it much sooner than I had planned
