How to clear 37's
Save your transmission and get gears. If you have 4.10's, you'll be fine for a while. However, if you have 3.55's or 3.73's, I would definately bump those down to 4.88's. Im running 33's and 3.55's and can really tell my truck is struggling to turn them.
well if you live in memphis, get the pro comp stg. 2 kit and crank the coilovers and add a block to the back. im probably gonna do the same thing. o, ya, u def need to get some gears too. your lookin at around $7k to get everything done though.
First off: Russ, as much as I do appreciate the compliment, I cannot take credit for it. I have spent years (and tons of $$$!!!) learning how to fix Mercedes. I know them inside and out. Old Chevy's and Ford's I got no problem with and I am on my second Samurai, but this is my FIRST F150 and my knowledge of anything "new ford" is beyond me. I have to give thanks to people like Wandell, Rolling Rock and R.P, guys like Thumper and djh for helping me out and getting me familiar with my truck.
Second: For all you suggesting the RIZE lift, I am sure he appreciate the input but his very first post says he is trying to save himself a couple bucks by not going that route. All tho you may not agree he is doing the best thing, keep in mind it is his pick up and he is just looking for advice on how best to upgrade it to *his* liking. I will agree the rize is an incredible kit, but he should also know there are cheaper route that will suit his needs just fine.
Lastly: to the O.P. despite what I said in the remarks above you should REALLY consider holding off and saving up for the RIZE kit. Sounds to me like you got your heart set on some big ole tires and this honestly may be the best route for you. Also look into CST and try to stay away from any other big lift that isn't highly praised on this site. As for being budget minded: you should also think about going with something like the Basic Fabtech lift. Its pretty fair in price (right around $1,400-$1500) and you get a good kit and can fit some 35" tires. Save up and by the time the tires run outta tread you can upgrade things like your UCA and new coil overs and maybe a body lift. Also you may have the time to regear and get some custom tunes by then. Something else to consider...
