to reclock the driveshaft: normaly (stock) the driveshaft looks something like this: >====-- or in other words the u-joint opening are "opposite" and you need to take out the shaft... take off the boot, and pull it apart. Your goal is to turn one end 90 degrees so it now looks like >====< . to do this you will need a dye grinder (or some other slim grinding wheel) to grind down one of the keys in the slip yoke. Sorry for the lack of discription... not feeling it right now. But the FABTECH instruction tell you how to do this with a pic or two think. http://www.fabtechmotorsports.com/pd...on%20Sheet.pdf

And to FoMoCoFan17: sorry bud, I did hear ya, and you do bring up a valid point. I think we were just trying to correct the more eminent problem, the stacked spacers. The O.P. then wanted to know the best way to fix his C.V. and ball joint angles. I will agree with you that the noise he is hearing and saying to be the "c.v. binnding" might very well (and most commonly with Pro-comp) is the driveshaft not being reclocked.

In the instructions it was saying that it will need re-balanced. Is that true or just something that they suggest?

It is a good idea and really comes down to how you use your truck. You will only feel the "off balanced" driveshaft while in 4wd and at higher speeds. When our trucks are in 2wd the front driveshaft does not spin, and that means you wouldn't feel it even if it were a square shaft (exagerating). I have done the re-clock and have yet to re balance it. I will do it, but I have already taken my truck out a couple times, used 4wd and played around. Never had an issue... except I put it in backwards the first time. Making it hit on the swaybar a little bit. a quick flip and now its looking fine. Make sure you install it with the boot closer to your transfer case.

Please do... it is really easier than you may think, i was a little nervous before i did mine... once you slip the boot off and actually see with your own eyes what we are talking about, then all doubts are gone. Its super easy... just cut a little notch into a flat spot. you'll see what i mean (I'm not the best with words... sorry)

Not trying to highjack forum....just curious MercedesTech what kind and how much lift do you have in your truck? I like the way yours sits not too big not too small.

Thanks a lot Back, I do appreciate it. It was the look I was going for... still need to be able to tow and be functional but gotta be able to go play once in awhile. I am running the Fabtech 6" basic lift kit. Its a great kit so far and holding up mighty fine. I love it and would highly recommend it.
