I still think your problem is the backspacing of your rims. If your tires were tucked further into the wheel well they wouldn't rub on that spot.

You could possibly take care of the rubbing and keep your rims by getting coil overs and cranking them up for another 2" of lift.

Yeah, no doubt. The rubbing is caused by a combination of the 10 inch wide wheel and shallow backspacing. Just guessing, by the amount those wheels are sticking out, I'd say you have about 4.5 inches of backspacing. If you went to a 9 inch wheel with 5 inches of bs (which is the most common wheel spec), it would pull the tire inward and eliminate (or at least lessen) that rubbing.

thanks wandell and acm8705 for all the help!
wandell and acm8705, will a 10" rim work with the correct backspacing( what would that be a 6"), or should i just go with a 9"?

It will be easier to find a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inch of bs as they are very common. The only 18x10 with 6 inch of bs that I know of is the Mickey Thompson.

Sorry, I had 18's on the brain for some reason. Check 4 Wheel Parts website. The KMC and Moto Metal wheels have a couple different bs options in your bolt pattern.
