Im going to have to say it looks better after. I like it to be either level or slightly higher in the back. Mine is slightly lower in the back as well and I plan on getting a 5" fabtech block. I already have and AAL. When the back sags it just looks funny to me. It just doesnt look as good. looks more like a pre runner. i tlooks more aggressive to me when its level or slightly higher in the back. imo

Just measure from the center of the hub on each side of the truck, to the bottom of the fender lip when adjusting. also make sure you have the front of the truck jacked up off the ground or you will gaul your threads trying to crank, and a little lube on the threads help. be prepared to drop some $$$ on some though.
