02 F150 Leaf Springs

I am looking for a set of softer leaf springs for a 2002 f150 4x4 supercrew. Would like to replace the existing ones with a softer set. I could go to a spring shop but looking for other options first.

I dont haul much or tow anymore as we are now using the expedition but its still (my) daily driver and would like to soften it up more then the existing factory ride.

Thanks

either get V6 springs, or Lightning springs. the 03/04 Lightning springs are gonna be your best bet.... you can always take the leaf's apart and take one of them out, but you loose payload/towing that way.

thanks for the advice on the lightning or v6 springs. my concern with removing a leaf in the original stack is changing the handling characteristics and steering geometry compared with replacing with another spring set.

thoughts?

steering will be minimally effected by dropping half an inch. It would mean you have another 1 or 2 degrees of caster, not a big deal....

Handling, they will be softer so you will want to have a quality shock to match them. Its like anything else you do to the truck, it will make it ride/act differently, but you will get used to it very quickly

It might sound crazy b.c you have a 4x4 but if you put a set of 2" lowering shackles on it (would drop it about 1.5") it would be alot softer on stock springs. It would level the truck out too.
