Biggest Block

Whats a safe window for rear block sizes? I have the 4" that came with the Fabtech Kit, But I need about 2 more inches in the rear, I really dont want an AAL because of how bad the ride is. A Buddy of mine has a SD with the 8" fabtech with a 5" Block and 2 AAL's, and the ride is HORRIBLE. I know this will increase my Axle Wrap, but is a 6" block pushing it? I dont tow too much, so the AAL is not necessary

Well, I may just go with the AAL's, because I really need 3".

Hmmm...Maybe a 5" block and 1 AAL???

I've got a 2" add-a-leaf and the ride is no different. Sounds like your buddy has another problem he needs to get worked out.

Might be a short AAL and not a long AAL. The guy told me the longer one would be better for ride quality than the shorter one. Maybe he was a dumbass, I really don't know.

Sounds like one of those crappy generic add-a-leafs or it could be his shocks are too short not allowing the suspension to make its full travel.

Deaver Springs.... $550 and worth every penny. Save up and do it right. They can make what ever lift you want... I have a 3in arch, 12 leaf pack and rear end is strapped at 18in. of wheel travel.

i would go with an AAL, u start getting into those large blocks, you're talking axle wrap. altough i have 6" of lift in the rear which is the fabtech 5" block and a 1" shim. i get 0 axle wrap, i only have bolt on perf. parts, intake, edge, trueduals.

. . and they only charged you $550? The 4" leaf packs that they stock in house are $535. I was quoted around $800 for a custom size leaf pack.
