4" Lift

I am new to the 4wd scene and was wanting some opinions. I have seen a lot of talk about 6" inch lifts here and was just curious what anyone thought about the 4" lifts. I don't want to go huge but I just want to give my truck a more aggressive look. I will be using it occasionally off road for hunting purposes. I suppose if I see a mud hole or 2 I might be pursuaded to hit but what would be the best recommendations 4" or 6"? And can you run 35's with a 4" lift?

welcome to the Forum. I personally went with the Rancho 4" lift. I was going to go Fabtech but would have had to buy new wheels since they need a 5" backspace, and that would have cost more money.I also did not care for the wheels sticking out appx 1 inch on either side. I can run the factory wheels with the Rancho and currently have 33's on them. I mostly do highway driving but LOVE the extra clearance. it looks aggressive but does not look EXTREME. Many members are running 35's with a 2.5" leveling kit so you can definitely use 35's with a 4" or 6" lift. If you do one piece at a time it doesn't hurt your wallet as much as plunking down several thousand. I have been through what I consider some pretty rough trails in Moab, Nevada and Northern California and have never bottomed out on anything YET. I am extremely pleased with the driveability and extra clearance.

Most people wind up wanting to go bigger. I'd suggest the RCD lift. It is adjustable for 4.5 or 6 inches of lift. You can fit 35's with a 4 inch lift.

Another things is? The price of the 4" Rancho is almost as much as the price of the basic 6" Fabtech!!

actually once you add the rancho shocks (which you have to buy separately) the rancho ends up costing 200-400 more then the basic fabtech (which comes with shocks).

I'm just the opposite, I used to have a 6" lift and 35's on my old truck. I decided to go smaller with my current truck and went with the 4" Rancho and 35's. I personally think the new model F150s look perfect with a 4" - 4.5" suspension lift and 35's.

Pics in my gallery.

If I was in the market for a lift I would go with a 4" one with 35's. I think they look perfect too.

thumperexc i love your truck. I was gonna go for a look like that. The tire lift combo looks awesome. Thats how they should ideally come from the factory.
