Are New Shocks Needed

how high can you go in the rear of an 06 without needing new shocks. ive seen some places that offer a 1.5" block and say you can use stock shocks, but other places say that new shocks are needed for a 1" block.

It all depends on what kind of driving you do. Technically if you want the "best" set-up and it matters a lot than you need a longer shock any time you increase the amount of lift in the rear. However, I' as well as many others are running an additional 2" without any problems. Some were even running over 4" but said it was bouncy on the highway.
