different questions about rancho & pro comp
different questions about rancho & pro comp
Hello everyone.
I have a 4x4 04 new body style with 35" and a 2.5as.
I wanted to upgrade with a 6" lift but i had different question.
I see the rancho 4" lift. how can you fit 35" on it when sometimes you have problems fitting 35" on a 6" lift.
Then another question my truck has almost 65k on it. if i get a procomp 6" do you think I would have any problems. I heard from a guy at 4wheelparts yesterday that the truck doesn't have any shock in the front. How can that be possible??
Please help, I'm kinda tired of rubbing at full lock ahhahaha oh and do you think I would rub with 35" on stock rim on the rancho?? somehow i really like the oem wheels

Wheel choice is the key to tire fitment. Backspacing and width of the wheel are just as important as tire size. The standard Pro Comp lift uses the OEM coilover shocks and a spacer. They have replacement coilovers as an upgrade.

Some people may try to tell you that you actually get 5-6" of lift with the Rancho but that is not true.....you get exactly 4" of lift. I had to do very minor trimming on the corners of the plastic part on the front bumper to avoid the minor rubbing with my 35's. Check my gallery for pics of the Rancho lift on 35's. And as Wandel said, backspacing is key to wheel fitment.
However, if you left your spacer on the front and added a 2" add-a-leaf out back, you could make the Rancho a 6" lift. Several people on here have done it.
So you are capable of leaving the leveling kit on with the rancho suspension? Do you happen to remember what members did this and did they ever talk about the angles being screwed. I am also leaning towards the Rancho because i want to keep stock wheels. Thanks for the help.
