I was in hawaii last week on the island of maui and noticed that the lifted toytas looked very different then the ones here. They had really small tires but they were extremely wide... Does anybody know why they look like this?

 

I am in the military and I work with some guys from the Hawaii and Guam and they have lifted Toyota's and they are all the same way after qasking them I was told thats the style from back home.

 

Wide tires probably help from sinking in the sand, maybe has something to do with the big cost of shipping out there?
