Help me Modify My 05 SCREW!!
Help me Modify My 05 SCREW!!
I just bought an 05 SCREW fx4 and its stock. Not for long though. Just found f150online.com and im adicted! My 4 year old son calls the new truck "shark motor drive". My old diesel f250 ws "monster motor drive".
Please give me your thoughts on what I want to mod.
Programer=from the forums it seems Edge is the best?

My first thought was 2" leveling with 17" American Racing Mojave/chamber teflon. 285/70 bfgood m/t
Now im thinking 4" rancho lift with 35" toyo m/t, same wheels.
Cant decide, please help! I use my truck every day for work, Land Surveying, so it cant be redicoulous high. Here in Hawaii Im in the mud and sand a lot at work/play but I do drive plenty on the road.
Thanks for your input!

If i were doing it i would go with the 6" fabtech or pro comp lifts. They are comparable in price but you get 2 extra inches here. Toyos are always great tires...so that is the best choice. I am not familiar with the wheels but i am sure they are great too...also if you are just gonna do 4" of lift, maybe a performance accessories 3" body lift could be in the picture? It is a lot cheaper..only around 200 for the lift with the only problem being installation. Overall i think u have great ideas.
I'd go with a 2 or 2 1/2" leveling kit with the American Mojaves, Chamber's or Crater's all available with teflon finish and try to get the elusive 295x70x17 Toyo MT's. Just my 2 cent's. This site will empty your wallet quick! By the way I got to spend a little time at Hickam AFB way back in 1971.
You should really take a look at this thread;

As for programmer it really depends on if you want custom or canned. Here's a pretty good thread written by someone who's owned both and did a review.

My personal opinion is to go with at least a 6" lift because once you get it lifted you're going to want to go higher. I have a 6" lift on mine and would love to do a leveling kit and an AAL on top of it to give me a couple more inches of lift, but then would want bigger tires and new gears and would spend lots more $$$$$$
Where in Hawaii are you? I'm actually shipping my truck to Pearl Harbor in about 3 weeks and my family and I will arrive in Honolulu on September 27th.

a lot of people have problems with the edge
and most people like the af1 intake
check www.troyerperformance.com and read about what they have to say about the af1 intake and the custom tuned Xcal2
