Replacement Shocks

I think I need new shocks for my '98 F150 4X4. I was talking to a guy with a '97 F150 and he said to use Ford shocks bought at the dealership instead of aftermarket. He said that the shocks made for Ford are beefier than those purchased outside of the Ford dealership. Can anyone tell me if this is true or if it's bull*_$@? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

T.

I agree. Almost any name brand shock will be an improvement over the OEM shocks.
