I havent changed my gears yet but it definitely needs to be done

My truck isnt an every day driver and its a 5 speed so its not too bad to deal with. My reasons for not changing the gears asap are:

What will it be like when I change back to the stock wheels for the winter months from November thru April? I bet its like riding a mountain bike in first gear.

And for those who have regeared, if you have 4 WD, I assume you have to change the gears in the front as well as the rear, correct?

I don't have gears, but you are correct about having to get both differentials regeared. Having the front spin a different ratio than the rear would probably grenade the transfer case if you ever had to put it in 4WD.

This is offtopic from the thread, but I am really considering the thought of putting the Fabtech 6" on my '03 after seeing your truck and several others on here. I would probably buy the kit online since I can get it for $1595 shipped, but what did you pay to have it installed?

thats about what I paid online for my fabtech. A friend and I installed it. Wasnt a difficult process at all. Especially with many useful threads on this board, some even have step by step pics. To be honest, I was very nervous about doing it myself at first.

Les22, I was going to send you a PM but it wont let let cause I probably don't have enough posts. How did you approach the torsion bar removal step? I read the instructions and it said to use a removal tool which is pretty expensive and sometimes hard to locate. I did read though in another post that the bar was left in the control arm but they used an air hammer to take the key off.

I think if I can get some of these questions squared away before I consider purchasing the lift I will try to knock it out myself.
