Another AS spacer question
Another AS spacer question
Heres the deal. I am thinking about the AS2 1/2 spacer because I am 3 1/4 low on the front. I figure this will put me in around 3 inches higher when all is said and done. I have been reading through threads and looking at all the pictures that have been taken of the install (thanks by the way) and it looks to me like it is putting some pretty nasty angles on various suspension components as well as front axles. The questions I would like answers to are:
How miserable is it going to be to align after the install (pulls a little bit already no needs the alignment regardless but Im dealing with a toe issue, not the impending camber problem that I foresee).
How much is this going to affect the angle of my axles? Should I be concerned about this? I have been seeing a lot of how-to's which have been great but to my experience there is always a catch. Sorry its so long but any advice would be appreciated.

Most members report that only the toe is out after installation. As for the ball joint and CV joint angles, they will be more severe and of course this will increase wear. How much I don't know.
The leveling kit should only affect your toe to the point of putting it out of spec. The tie rod is angled slightly downward on a stock truck. As the tie rod swings down it gets closer to the vertical center of the vehicle... this is why your tires get toed in. Because these trucks use a double wishbone front suspension, the tire stays pretty much vertical throughout it's entire suspension cycle therefore the camber isn't affected too much.
On another note... I'm pretty firmly against leveling kits.
