The front uses a spacer to create the lift instead of like Fabtech which uses a longer shock with a spring seat to put your factory coil. These are technically much better but most of the higher end lifts, IMO, use a spacer. . just like the CST and the Rize. Of course coilovers can be added to any of these kits for a cost.

Coilovers are always a good upgrade if money is not a problem.

You should have them quote you on a Rancho 4", just to see what the difference is. It gets great reviews here. I'm in Rochester also and I was planning on getting a quote from Tuff Trux in the spring. I'd be interested to see how the $ compares to the BDS.

Coilovers are normally about an $800 upgrade.

I guess the real question is, are you going for looks or performance? If its looks and of the drop down kits (Fabtech, CST, Skyjacker....)will work fine for whats in your price range. If you really want performance stay away from the drop down kit and look into getting a bolt in coilover from either Camburg, Donahoe or King. Then add a uniball UCA and you will be suprised what this kit is capable of.

thanks EBROTEN...im not looking for a hardcore off-road lift...just something that can take a little abuse 1 weekend a month, bounced through fields and down dirt roads and also be a daily driver...

i was leaning more towards a coilover fabtech but my shop is pushing the BDS lift, and they say its considerably cheaper than the fabtech...like i said earlier, i never heard of BDS and i was just asking everyone's opinion as to which one to get...

I've also heard good things about the BDS, and their warranty. We have a local 4x4 shop that has been selling them for awhile. The front crossmember is looks almost exactly like the Fabtech. You could always just go with the spacer that comes with the kit, and later upgrade to some coilovers. It's an easy upgrade at a later date.
