what tire size????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I have a 2005 supercab 4x4. I just purchased a PA 3" body lift for it, but before I put it on I would like to go ahead and get the tires so when I put the lift on I can put the tires on. My question is, what size tire can I put on the factory 17" wheel? I was thinking of 305/70/17. What is your guys opinion?

yea. you can fit 35's on a 4x4 with just a level on the factory rims.
you will be fine with 35s, and it will look good too

I'm pretty sure there's a few guys on here running 35's on the factory wheels. I'm sure they'll chime in. I would wait to hear from Wandell as he has an excellent grasp on wheels and backspacing and he would know the scoop. My only thought is I went with a 17x9 wheel with 5.5" Backspacing w/ 35's. By going with the 9" wide wheel w/ the same backspacing as factory, I was able to maintain the inside edge of the stock tires with wider 35's. Essentially, the wheel sticks out 1.5" further to the outside pushing the center of the tire further out. My concern with a wider tire on the stock is would it create any rubbing on any of the suspension/steering components? Don't know enough to be sure if this will be a problem or not.

As for the 3" BL, you can run 35's with them and you'll have some rubbing when turning sharply. I ran mine like that for a few days before I could get my Autospring 2" leveling installed. Once I put that on, the rubbing went away.

Good Luck!

You can get a 315x70x17 on with just a leveling kit, the body lift will clear them for sure!

so if you guys were going to put tires on, what size would you go with?
i am thinking about the 305 in a bfg at/ko. you guys are saying 35's. I think the 35's might be a little too big. I don't know... what specific sizes would you consider if it was you?

35's for sure and get a leveling kit. 33's will look tiny. Heck, my 35's look small to me now.

i am not going to get a leveling kit yet. all i have is the pa 3" body and i have no torsion bars. i don't want to go too big with the tires and fill up the fender wells.

what type of leveling kit would you use and how easy are they to put on?

I'd go with the body lift, a 2 inch Autospring leveling kit and some 35's.
