Question on Body Lift and Tires

Alright, so I want to get some lift out of my truck and fit larger tires. The thing is I don't want to dump a ton of money into it on a suspension lift when I probably will never go off-roading with it. Plus you never know how long you will have a vehicle for and it is a 2000, but with pretty low miles.

Anway I am thinking about getting a PA 3" body lift and to save on money just running larger tires with the stock 17" wheels. I know alot of people are running 35's with the Body Lift so that is possible with it leveled out and all.

I am thinking about Toyo Mud Terrains. Can I fit a 35X12.50R 17 on my stock wheel? That is the smallest size they list for a 17" wheel on their website.

And those would also fit on my stock wheel with no problems? I will probably get some nicer ones eventually, but I figured with the winters up here I would just use the stock ones, so they don't get all messed up.

I think it will rub.

FYI - I have a 6" Lift on my Screw and I added 315/70/17 and they rubbed when I made sharp turns in eitther direction. I did some minor trimming and that took care of it. Imho, be prepared to trim a little.

Cool thanks for the advice. Actually I just saw a pic of a truck on here, same exact style as mine....sames wheels, etc. only not an extended cab...and it has a 3" PA body lift and 33" inch Mud Terrains on the stock wheels. Doesn't look too bad either with the 33's.

Are those 33" Muds or are those the 305/70/17 which is a 34" tire?

There are several people on here and over at Ford Truck World that have 3" body and 35s. Shewolf has an '02 screw with a 3" body on 35/12.50/17 Toyo MTs on factory 17" FX4 wheels. It looks real good.

Did you guys that have the body lift do anything to level out the front of your trucks to make the 35's fit better? or did you just do the body lif tand still have the slight sag in the front and they fit?

I didnt do anything to level it and like i said all i had to do was trim the lower valance a little. I am getting ready to crank the torsion bars to level it out a little bit.

I cranked up my torsion bars to level my truck. I was afraid of rubbing when I went to 35's, but all I had to do was trim a little more plastic off the front bumper's valance. I have pics in my gallary.
