Help with 2008 Screw Jacksonville, FL

I have a few questions for all you 150 gurus. I'm in the military overseas and have placed an order for a 2008 screw. I want the 6in Fab lift and would like to clear 36 or 37's. My questions are

Has anyone had any experience or recommend an installer in the Jacksonville area?

In addition to the lift what other mods will I need to clear the 36/37's? Also I want the truck to be level (or damn close). When talking with the installer should I ask for different blocks etc. then what comes with the dirt logic w/ 2.5 coilovers?

Was thinking about 20x10 Moto Metal 951's with 36/15.5 (not sure about the tires yet) Any recommendations?

I only have 30 days back home and want to get all this done in the first few days back. I'm just trying to get all the info beforehand so that when I pickup the truck from the dealer I can drive it straight over to the installer.

Thanks guys....

I can assure you that you won't be able to get away with 36 or 37s with only a Fabtech 6" and especially with those wheels. I've got the same wheels and with only the Rize 8 inch kit, 37x13.50s would rub without trimming. If you do get the Fabtech kit, make sure you get the DirtLogic adjustable coilovers as well as a bigger add-a-leaf to even it out. I'd stick with a 13.50 though if you do this set-up.

Tires. I like the Nitto Mud Grapplers but I'll be switching to the Toyo Open Country M/Ts when these wear out. They are pretty expensive which is their one and only downfall. What do you want? A mud terrain or an all terrain?

Now onto the shop. Do NOT go to Black Sky Inc. I have dealt with them and they are crooks. If you want to go more into depth about it you can shoot me an email with your AIM or what not. I believe their is a Truck Toyz in Jacksonville and I've heard nothing but good things about all of their stores. I also think there is a 4WP up there but I'm not too sure about the quality of it. I know the one in Orlando is top notch. They installed my Rancho 4" on my 2004 F150 in a few hours.

Anymore questions, feel free to ask. I'd be more than happy to help.

Since you want a tire that large, I'd suggest going with the 8 inch Rize lift.

I agree. I didn't want to seem biased since everyone has told me I give Rize too much praise.

There's a few here around town most notable ones are North Florida Offroad then there's 4x4's and More and that truck store that i think Thump metioned is The Auto Toy Store. All three are top notch as far as quality and assurance. Know a few people who work at the Toy Store so thats were i get my stuff ; not to mention its less than 2 miles from my house.

I would go with the 8" rize.4x4's and more did my last truck 05 screw 4x4 with 37x13.50x20 on 20x10 rims 6" procomp,2.5" leveling kit,2"aal.My cv axles
were at a horrible angle and they popped when you really needed them.At the time I believe Rize was just hitting the market here after i saw that kit
hands down the best set up in my eyes.I was pissed that i had not done a little more research cv angles were perfect.all
of those shops do good work.I believe 4x4's and more was bought out Idont think the new owners would be my first choice in town.Anybody know what happened to blacksky that was the rize dealer in jacksonville?

Thanks everyone for the info. Maybe I will look towards the Rize vs. the Fab. if I want to clear 37's. It's going to be a new truck so I want to make sure it's done right so that I don't have the issues down the road. Especially since I'll be shipping it back overseas with me and don't really have access to an off-road shop if something does break.

07screw - I think that they may have stopped dealing with Rize or dealing all together. I've read a few things out on the internet about the company and they had some horrible reviews. I also looked on the Rize website and it no longer shows them as a dealer. I guess if I go Rize the closest dealer would be down in Ocala.

I would never recommend the place that did my install. . After doing the lift, I gave them the chance to make a little money repairing my truck after an accident. I gave them half of the bill to get started and pay for the parts. They took my money and a month later my truck was still sitting on a trailer. I had to get the cops involved to get my truck back.

I deal with the Auto Toy Store on San Jose. They are good people and they make sure that things are done right. I get most all of my stuff there. You should go check them out. Take a look at some of the trucks they've done, they all look really good.

So thump with the 8in Rize were you able to clear the 37/13.50's with no rub or did you have to do a little trimming as well. Also with the Rize does it level out the truck as well or will I need AAL?

I've had the Rize 6" block and a 2" Deaver add-a-leaf, it sat level. Since than I've added Bilstein 5100s up front so thats why its sitting bull dog. The Rize will rub a little bit with those tires on a turn hitting a bump. Nothing that trimming won't fix.
