Bilstein 5100 modification

I had an idea about the Bilsteins I got from Top Gun Customz on Ebay. Mine were the RCD part numbers and only came with two grooves. The grooves are 1 3/8" apart center to center. I'm guessing that 1 3/8" would equal 2" of lift. Problem is I do not want two inches of lift. I talked to a machine shop about machining another groove in them for me. I'm think I can put it about anywhere I want between the other grooves for a tailored lift. By my measurements if I cut a grove at 1 1/32", I'd have 1 1/2" of lift. Or I could go 11/16" for a 1" lift. Does this sound correct and does anybody see anything wrong with going this route? Thanks!!!

You can machine the groove anywhere you would like. I did mine in middle and ended up with 1".
