straight axle conversion for 02 supercrew

how hard would it be to convert my 02 supercrew to a straight axle conversion and get rid of the oem ifs?i was wanting to use a dana 44 from an earlier ford. also would the wheel bolt pattern be the same?

... unbolt and then you have the new hassle of finding your hanger locations, which has to be done correctly. then spindle questions? oh btw, earlier fords ran 5x5.5" these 97-03 run 5x135mm.

just some quick thoughts before im off.

mostly, time, welder, spare parts and lots of thinking.

Do you want to run coils or leaves in the front? Coils would require quite a bit more work.
