Low or High Boy?

Hello,

I need to determaine if my F-350 is a High Boy or Low boy. It is a '79 and 33's fit pretty snug. I couldn't go 35's w/o trimming. I need to figure this out before I order my lift. Thanks

w/o knowing for sure by a vin # or something I'd say it's NOT a highboy, you should be able to fit 35's on there with ease if it was, I had a 78 Bronce with 35's on it stock, tight but they did fit so I'd say you have a regular F-350, did they even make a highboy in 1979? I didn't think so but I really don't know.

as far as i know, I believed they stopped making the high boy's in 1977. I have seen some people putting the front clips off of a 78 or 79 on a high boy though. Is the t-case dead center between both axles and both drive shafts look about the same length? Basically is it a married t-case with the tranny or is it divorced? A divorced is a high-boy. Good luck.

I found an image of one on the internet of the driveshafts. Look to see if your undercarriage looks like this from the side. The pic here is a high boy.

1977 sounds right about the last last year of the high-boy...
