7050# GVWR Identification?

2005 F-150 SCrew Lariat 4x2

Is there any way besides looking at the sticker or VIN to determine if my truck has the 7050# GVWR package?

Here's the problem:

The original sticker has 7050# package listed under optional equipment but no price next to it. The VIN decoder says that it has 7001# to 8000# GVWR. It has SIX lug wheels. All of the auto part stores say that it should have SEVEN lugs if it has the 7050# package.

So I'm trying to figure out if it has the package or not. Can you tell perhaps by the number of leaf springs in the rear? Anything?

Thanks in advance!

Your door jamb sticker tells you what GVWR your truck has. If it says #7050, then that's what it is. For your year truck, that should be the "Base" GVWR package... Six lug wheels is also standard for your truck. The "HD" payload package for your year truck has a GVWR of #8200. That has the seven lug wheels.

Up to 2003, the max GVWR you could get in an F150 was #7700. That also had the seven lug wheels and a 10.25" rear end. (only a semi floater howerver...) and was the "HD" payload package of it's time.

I think you could also get a #7500 GVWR package for your year truck, but that would be 'optional' and would be noted on your window sticker as such, plus show on your door jamb sticker....

The 'auto parts store' you got your info from is old info and does not reflect what is out there right now......
