00' Leveling Kit

I just got a 2000 F150 Lariat 4x4. I've never liked my trucks to sit unlevel so i want to level it up. Is the leveling kit just pretty much tightening the torsion bars to level the truck up. Why are new torsion keys needed. I'm familiar with all suspension setups so any help is much appreciated.

Yep, leveling kits for the 97-03 4x4's are just reindexed torsion bar adjustment keys. They are not needed to level your truck and I think they are a complete rip off. They allow you to put way, way too much preload on your torsion bars which will destroy your ride quality and lead to premature ball joint and CV joint wear.

So i can just tighten the torsion bar adjuster bolts until i reach the height i need(probably just and inch) and it will give me the same effect as the new torsion keys and tightening them also. I understand that it will strain the ball joints and CV axles. I had a nissan Hardbody that i leveled out by just tightening the torsion bars a little, same thing.

Right. You are increasing the preload on the torsion bars whether you use the OEM adjustment keys or one of the aftermarket kees.
