Autospring or Tuff Country

I am a new member needing some help. What is the difference between a leveling kit that needs the "coils compressed" Vs the Autospring that is "bolt on". Does one effect the front drive train Vs the other, ride, etc. Is one better/safer than the other? Thanks for your input. BTW I have an 05 screw 4x4.

Welcome to the site! There are two types of leveling spacers for the 04-07's. The two piece designs have one part that bolt on top of the coilover assembly and the second piece sits on top of the coilspring itself. This requires that the coilspring be removed from the coilover shock so this piece can be installed. Daystar is probably the largest manufacturer to use this design.
The one piece design, like Autospring, is simply a spacer that bolt on top of the coilover shock assembly.
Both types of leveling kits do the same thing and give the same amount of lift and ride and cost the same. The only difference is the one piece design is much, much easier to install.

AS 2.5" installed

Thanks for the input. I had ordered the 2.5" earlier this week and then really started thinking of the "what if's...." questions and needed some feedback. The shop where I get my oil changed put it on for $100.00. Well worth the $189.00 that I have in the kit. There is a local shop here that wanted $500.00 for a 2.5" leveling kit installed.....that is crazy!!! The look is great and in about 15k more miles I will have my new tires....and ideas on larger size?? 18" OEM Lariat rims.
THANKS AGIAN for the input.

I'd suggest the new 305/70-18 (34x12.50) BFG AT KO's. You can run a 35x12.50-18, however you will probably have some minor rubbing on the control arms at full steering lock.

Thanks, I will take a look at those. I really want to avoid any rubbing if possible, I drive 45-50k miles per year and need to get all I can from a set of tires, I replace them every 15-18 months as it is. But if it is only at full steering lock, that my not be an issue at all?

The BFG's are actually 305/65/18. The size BFG claims it is a 33.7X12X18, which all depends on your wheel size though.
They are the perfect size tire in a leveled truck in my biased opinion.
