Fabtech 6" on a std cab

does anyone know if Fabtechs 6" lift for F150s, years 97-03 will fit on a std cab long box? I sent a email to fabtech and they said they had no experience with a std cab, but had heard rumours it had been done. if it matters my truck is a 1997 f150 4x4 offroad edition with the 5.4L Triton v8 (mmmm torque ). any help would be greatly appreciated, and also, this is my first post on this site, hopefully there are many more.

I believe the only style it won't fit is standard cab, short bed. You should be fine. At least you better be, because I have the same truck and I'm saving up for that lift lol.

i hope that you are right, the site says crew cab short box, surely the frame is the same size in a std cab long box, and its just a difference in body style. The Fabtech person only said they have never tried it, not that it didnt work.

I kinda find that hard to believe. They may not have actually installed the lift on a standard cab, but they should know whether it fits or not... Maybe you should try talking to someone else.

here is the response i recieved over email about whether the Fabtech kit would work on my truck:
"I have heard this kit work on the std cab long bed, but never been tested and never been seen by Fabtech to confirm the rumor. That is what know on this one, Thanks

if the tech manager doesnt know, that kind of scares me away from this kit, which is sad, since it looks badass

I would think the only difference would be the lengths of the new strut bars that wouldn't match up. The torsion bar lengths are the same as is the rest of the suspension so I would think it would have to work you'd just have to modify the new strut bars.
