Yup, here's a pic of a 14" Mark LT we lifted and the transmission has gone out for a 2nd time and the truck doesn't have many miles on it. Granted he just found out the Mark LT puts the weaker of the transmissions in it. So you may want to check to see that your transmission is the 4R75E and not the 4R70 which is what's on the Lincoln and some of the F150's. Pretty sure all of the 5.4's are the 4R75E but not positive about that. Here's a pic of the Lincoln with the 40's on it.

Really?

I thought all "F-150s" that were equipped with the 5.4L got the 4R75E.

I think all the F150 5.4's are but the Mark LT's are definitely not which is probably how they cut down on the price of the truck with all that blingy chrome all over it.

Depends on what it's used for but I'd say at least a 4.56 for highway driving all the way up to a 5.13 or 5.29 for regular driving

EXACTLY!!

A 12" lift on an F150 is plain stupid, unless you do a straight axle conversion..

I'm glad a few people can agree with me, but like I said; it's not my truck so I couldn't care less what you do with it.

. . and you said my sarcasm wasn't needed, at least I'm not insulting a member who didn't do anything to me.

I'd go with 4.88s without a doubt, I'll be doing the same here shortly.

I'm planning on doing that soon as I get another vehicle as a daily driver which is going to be in a long time but I don't plan on getting rid of this truck.

Guys, believe it or not that is a girl who drives that truck... She currently has it for sale for $48,000. This rich kid's dad bought it for the kids g/f. Not sure why they are selling though. The truck has a 12" lift with 22x11 wheels with 40x15.50R22 Toyo MT's. Coil springs to achieve the lift in the rear and im sure all sorts of gearing and power upgrades... Needless to say its a bad truck.

I'm sorry you feel that way but the comment wasn't directed at any one person. Rather anyone who believes that the stock IFS can withstand the constant abuse of a 40" tire as a daily driver. I couldn't care less what anyone does with their truck but I'm fairly confident that I know what I'm talking about most of the time. I'd rather share my knowledge so someone doesn't have to post a thread about how mad they are for wrecking a good truck.
