Something has to be pulled loose. Check your battery cables and other wires.

well i found out the truck would roll even when in gear or park so i took the bracket to the trasmision and heated it up and bent it to where it was at a better angle for the linkage and bam it fired up. so then i went and put the bumpers on and extended the fuel lines and decided to take it for a test drive. I turned it over and the starter just clicks very loud and rapidly. I beat on it with a wrench and nothing. I tried jump starting it and all the electrical slowly died. I took the jumper cables off and i noticed it started to charge itself back up. What the hell !! so now the gauges do a full sweep when i try to start it and my cd player flashes on and off inconsistantly. the light under the hood, the back of the cab, and the dome light turn on and off at will. i switched batterys out of my little beater truck and the ford fired over. then i put it back in my little beater and it barely started. there has to be a short somewhere. what is wrong with my truck?

sorry for the long post

if its sucking juice and killing batteries that worked in other cars it may be your alternator

It sounds more like a pinched live wire from the install. By having a live wire grounded to a portion of the frame, you will be sucking the life (literally) out of your battery and screwing with the electrical system (especially if it's more than one wire. It may also be a bad ground strap connection. Pull the ground strap and clean up the frame location as well as the connector at the end of the strap.

not sure if you have figured out the problem yet, but i had this problem with my old chevy (sort of). the electrical started to act up, my tach would go all the way up then down when i started my truck. one night when i tried to start the truck, it turned over and wouldn't quit turning over. the starter got hung and i later found out it was because the hot wire to the battery had rubbed through and grounded out. it fried my starter. good luck

the problem was with my amp for the subs. the guy who helped me with the body lift hooked them back up when i wasnt wathching him and i have a volt meter hooked to my amp and he plugged it in wrong. Wierd that something little like that can shut a whole truck down.

And bigdad that pic was before my bodylift. My computer went **** up on me so ive been using friends and familys and havent had the chance to put knew pics up yet
