How do I make a 1998 2WD ride softer?

Searching for advice from some of you on this subject. My 1998 F150 (extended cab) rides more like a wagon than the fine machine it used to be. Every little bump in the road vibrates through the whole cab. I did change the rear shocks about a year ago. These were changed from the OEM to Sensatracks, but no real differences were noted.

I've been searching the forums and now I am thoroughly confused about Eldelbrocks, Bilsteins, Steering Stabilizers and more.....some input from one of you that has had similar issues would really be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd suggest a set of quality aftermarket shocks like the ones you mentioned.

Ummm, yeah... the OEM shocks are marginal at best when they're new, and IMHO, they aren't good much beyond 20,000 miles. Replace them all the way around, not just the rears, and you'll be amazed at the difference.

Also, check that your tire pressure is at the recommended pressure on the door sticker. You'd ba amazed how many tire shops train their employees to inflate based on the vehicle or the tire load rating or size, not based on the vehicle manufacturer's pressure rating.
