ReadyLift Leveling Kits

I have a 1997 F150 4x4, i just put some nerf bars on and while i was having that done i had the guys at the shop look to see if the truck had a leveling kit on it or if the previous owner just jacked up the torsion bars. Well he jacked up the torsion bars. I am going to lower the torison bars and put a leveling kit on the truck i found a keyway leveling kit like the guys at the truck shop told me about.

Does anyone have any opinion on the Readylift leveling kits?

Why? You are doing the same thing. You are increasing the preload on your torsion bars whether you crank them up with the OEM adjustment keys or use aftermarket torsion bar keys. The only difference is the aftermarket keys will allow you to put way too much preload on the torsion bars.

There's a lot cheaper keys out there than the readylift ones which are the exact same. i would actually suggest if you want to put an after market lift key on that you go with an adjustable key to make sure you keep a good ride because there are different models out there where the 2" key will give a stiff ride so it's nice to have an option to fall back on so you still get the desired height without sacrificing ride quality. I install a bunch of these leveling keys every month (usually on chevy's because they had them from 88-present) and they work fine. You'll have to replace your cv's a couple years sooner but you probably won't own your truck by then anyways.
