I installed a PA 3" body lift also with the help of one of my buddies on a 2000 f150 4x4. 10 hours is a little conservative IMO. It took us closer to 15 but we also messed around a lot. Also, a typical install amount to have someone do it is close to $800-$1000 in Michigan. If I could have found it for $300-$500 I probably would have paid to have it done.

Things to know:

You need a t-47 Torx bit
No welding or cutting was required with the Performance Accessories lift. They say you need to cut the front frame back I believe but we we're able to avoid this.
The bed bolts were the toughest part for us to take out. After about 4 hours of wrenching, welding nuts to the top and blow torching them, we finally said screw it and just cut them off with an angle grinder underneath. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS AND SAVING YOURSELF THE TIME. Ford uses a special kind of lock tight on these which is impossible to get off in most cases. Some install places give up when it comes to this area.
Other than that, you should be good. Get the Gap guards also, it's worth the $60-$70.

Good Luck
