Powder coating Rize ?
Has anyone powder coated a Rize lift kit yet? I would like to get mine done, but I am not sure if it would be to thick and cause problems during the installation. Painting it is my other option, but I ? it's durability.
I would check with Rize because they may consider it tampering with the kit and void the warranty. Powder Coating is just a tad thicker than paint and actually the same thickness as 3 coats of paint which is about normal anyways so I don't see a problem there. I had a 14" lift we did on a Lincoln Mark LT and it was powder coated to match the truck and everything bolted up fine...here's a pic
I figured that the powder coat would be ok, but it never hurts to ask around. Yeah, Rize says bye bye to the warranty if I modify the kit in any way. Oh well! My truck has 4k miles on it and once I do the lift,gears...that warranty will be gone also. If it breaks I will deal with it.
BTW ...that truck is sweet!

If I were you I wouldn't mess with the gears until your warranty is over because that will cause some warranty issues but the lift won't. That lincoln's transmission went out at 8000 miles (had 200 miles on it when we put the lift on) and ford covered the replacement transmission under warranty because they couldn't prove the lift, tires and wheels caused the failure. Here's a pic of my personal truck

If I run 37's in the mud without gears I will be asking for my tranny to explode... I bought this truck to use, not to sit back and wait for the warranty to expire. Like I said. If it breaks, I will deal. I will be screwed next year anyway when the Whipple goes on.

Wel I guess it's a good thing I know people who have some pull at a dealership. I'm not too worried about the small things that go wrong, it's just if say the tranny went out, I don't want to front the cash for that. And since I do all my own maintenance, I guess my waranty is up in the air anyways.

It is nice to know people so you can get stuff fixed under warranty that should not be coverd. I am one of the few that would never put someone in that kind of position. I accept the fact that I am increasing the chances of a failure down the road. Oh well...I will just have to replace the broken parts will better pieces. Like the saying goes....you wanna play, you gotta pay.
