body lift on an 05 f150

I have and 05 reg cab wiht 33" mud grapplers....the truck looks good but I think it would look better with a few more inches of lift, so im thinking about a body lift, but before i go buying one I have a few questions....I have a curtis snowplow on the front of the truck and a hidden hitch towing package on the rear...if I install a 3" body lift will that effect these two option? Will they still be functional? Will they stay low and the body high? sorry for all the questions, just want to know what Im getting into! Thanks

The frame stays if you add a body lift. your body goes up 3" inches only. your hitch will not be hidden anymore. your truck hides the hitch but if you lift it will stick out. It won't affect the plow.

nope...no rubbing with the 33's..the front of the truck is leveled with skyjacker springs. If I lift the truck and the trailer hitch and plow mounts stay the same will that look out of place? I want the height but dont want it to look ridiculous! Thanks.

i have a 05 f150 in the shop as we speak getting a body lift. it was already lifted 6 inches so iam getting the 3" body on top of that. Let me forewarn you, take it to a reputable shop that you know does good work and that knows what they are doing. There is alot of ***** to the new f150's to get the body off the frame, extending, modifying, etc.. etc... just alot of little tinker work. dont get raqed on the price to install either. Iam paying 500$ for install. thats the lowest i have heard of. I got another quote at 750$ at another shop. but i would defineatly pay the extra money to have a shop that has actually done new f150 before. ill get some pics up once its done.

The noticeable areas will be the tow hooks which will be under the bumper. The rear bumper being lifted shows the tow hitch which is no longer hidden. The last area will be the wheel wells. Check out my gallet to see close-ups of the areas.

I have the 3" body lift. The gap was corrected once the correct kit was ordered. This picture shows the corrected bumper. There is no gap to speak of in the front or the back.

cliff, i got my body lift installed, the tow hitch actually raised up with the bumper and it isnt in its normal spot where it shouldve stayed. iam guessing i cant tow with the hitch now right?? what did they do to raise it up with the bumper? and how can i go about being able to use the hitch again?

I believe that means you will not be able to tow as it is integrated to your bumper. I think you'd have to cut it off and have another installed to the frame. Do you have any pictures? Mine was different it is an 06 which is different than the 05 and my hitch is seperate from the bumper it is mounted directly to the frame.

hmmmm....i dont know, I really want the extra heaight but Im thinkingthat it might look strange with the plow mount bar and the trailer hitch 3 inches lower than the body....Im not as concerned about the plow mount but the hitch( which by the way is a "hidden" hitch)being exposed concerns me....does anyone have any pics of this? I want to keep the hitch usuable, so id leave it where it is. I know some guys have moved it with the bumper or made custom brackets, but they cant tow anymore.
