Lightbulb Fabtech Lift Question-06 F150 4WD Supercrew

I am interested in installing a 6" Fabtech lift on my 06 F150 4WD Supercrew. I currently am running the stock 20" wheels with 275/55R20 tires.

I have chosen the new wheels that I want. Here are the specs for the new wheel: 20"x9" with +30 offset (6.18" backspacing). The tire shop has temporarily installed the wheels and there seems to be no problem with rubbing.

The problem that I am having is finding a tire that will fit with the lift and these new wheels. The tire shop has told me that the biggest tires that they think that I can go with is 305/50R20. This is only a 32" tire. I am more interested in a tire that is more like 35 inches.

Does anyone know if Nitto Terra Grappler 325/60R20 tires or Nitto Mud Grappler 35x12.50R20 tires will work? Any opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve Wyman

they will work, but i think u need less backspacing then that. seems a little too tight for me i would go with 5.5" at least. there are many many 35x12.50 tires to choose from.

On "Trucks", they ran the 6" Fabtech lift with 18" Wheels with 4.5
Backspacing and it looked like they had no trouble. Im guess with 20" wheels it would be the same. I plan on running the Fabtech 6" lift with 35" toyo m/t, and what my dealer says I will have no problem.

I currently have just the 6" fabtech lift and am running 37x13.5 toyo mt. Just needed a little trim on the front valance so you should have any problems clearing 35s with the proper spacing.

CALL FABTECH! before you spend a dime, I spoke with them before I bought my lift (Rancho) and was shopping for lifts that would allow me to run 35's on my OEM rims (5.5"BS) I specifically remember the guy at fabtech telling me I could run factory rims with factory tires but once I upsized the tires it was time for new rims with less than 5.5" BS. Double check because I think the rims you want arent going to work.

I beleive that the deal with Fabtech's lift is you have to have a wheel with less than 5.5 inches of backspacing to use their steering stabalizers. I believe you can use a wheel with more backspacing, you just won't be able use the steering stabalizers.

I contacted Fabtech a couple of weeks ago regarding the wheel backspacing and tire sizes. The response that I received from their Tech Manager, Armen Mosikian was that they have never tested a 20" wheel with their lifts. Mr. Mosikian stated that I should consult the tire shop regarding wheels and tires because they install them everyday. I found his response to be lacking and that if anyone should know it would be Fabtech's own technical personnel.

How important are the Steering Stabilizers? It has not been something that I have been looking at. Do I need them with this lift?

Well, they are an option so that means they are not necessary.
That is a dissappointing response from Fabtech.
