2.5 Autospring added........

I put on my 2.5 AS yesterday and the job wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We finished in about an hour and 10 mins. Everything went smooth up until we got to the point to where we seperate the upper control arm and spindle. I've read on here how people beat and beat on the spndle to get it off and I didn't want to go through that so I had to think of a solution to prevent it. With me doing this while working at the firestation I came to a very easy solution. We took the spreaders off the truck (also known as the jaws of life) and I wedged it in between the two components and SLOWLY spread them apart, just slightly. My Buddy grabbed the sledge hammer and tapped it twice and it came right off. Once we figured this out the other side took no time. Anyway, here are some before and after pics. Thanks to everyone who offered such great insight before hand, it really made this job so much easier.

Looking good. And that is a fantastic looking truck, by the way.

I wish I'd had the "jaws of life" when I installed my Autosprings.. hahaha.

lol, thanks. Yeah they really came in handy, just as your thread and detailed intstructions on your install did. I've definitely got the "mod sickness". My exhaust is here in memphis (UPS has it) so hopefully I can pick it up today. I'm also going to order an intake today. I have lots of work coming up.

Looks real good. Probably one of the easiest and cheapest mods that makes an instant impact to the look of our trucks.

Looks good! What intake are you thinking of going with? I have been torn between volant and banks, id like an enclosed filter design.

I ordered the Volant(19754) today from Auto Anything with coupon code "GIFT10". Total was 251.xx with free shipping.
Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I will be taking it into Ford on monday for an alignment. I talked to my service writer last week and she said they normally go for 59.oo

As many mods as I did on the my last truck, I would have never thought to pull our spreaders. After thinkng of it, some jobs seem so much easier.
