2.5 spacer and backspacing ?'s

With a 2.5 leveling kit what is the backspacing have to be on the rim I would like to stay with 17"

maybe 17x8? 4.5bs will that work?

Or with a skyjacker 3" coilover what backspacing ?

Thanks guys
Rick

I assume you are talking about a 04-07 F-150. THe OEM wheels have 5.5 inches of backspacing. I would try to stay close to that. I don't think either lift requires a certain backspacing. Also, I'd go with the leveling kit over the Skyjacker coilovers. 3 inches is just too much lift without drop down brackets. You will go through ball joints and CV joints quickly with the Skyjacker.

So 4.5bs is not enough can you explain more bs means the wheels stick out less correct? or the other way around?
Thanks

The more backspacing, the less they will stick out. From what wandell has told me 5.5 or 6.0 is the better size. Some people like to have 5 that will stick them out about 1.5 to 2.0 over stock I believe.
