4" lift question

I hate to ask, as I know it has been asked a million times before. I am looking to lift my 05 4wd s-crew, I would like to go no more than 4". By searching and reading, it sounds like Rancho and RCD are the way to go, however, both use a block in the rear. Does that cause the rear springs to warp? I use to run a jeep, and know that it was a big no-no for them. Does anyone make a lift with real leaf packs. or AAL? Also I was thinking of putting on 17x9 951Moto Metals with 305/65/17 MTR's on, any thoughts...backspacing, clearence issues, etc.

Thanks for helping, as I know these questions have been asked a million times.

I run the Rancho 4" and dont think there is any problem with the 4" block...only adding 2" to the rear when replacing the factory block. Have not noticed any additional axle wrap or any other issues for that matter. I think Skyjacker traditionally has an option for spring packs (not sure about our trucks) but that is a 6" lift. The tire size your talking about is no problem with 4" lift however, there are issues with some 17" aftermarket rims fitting over the brakes (not sure on brands or manufacturers) Rancho allows for the use of factory rims (5.5" backspacing) which is why I bought it,I run factory 18's with 35x12.5's. Anything less than 5.5" is up to you as far as how much you want them to stick out.

Right. I think you will be fine with a block out back. As for wheels, I'd try to find a 9 inch wheel with 5.5 or 6 inches of backspacing. You may want to go with an 18 inch wheel just to be certain you don't have any problems with clearance over your brakes. Plus, there seems to be a larger selection of 18 inch tires.

I am set on MTR's, and I dont think that they make them the size I want with an 18inch wheel.
