3/4 ton in a half ton

i have a '94 f-150 4.9 5spd and i would like to put 3/4 leaf springs in the rear and heavy duty coils to get a little bit of lift and and bigger load capicty any pros and cons? and has anyone done this kind of thing

Honestly, I don't think it's a good idea. I think you will wind up with all of the disadvantages of a 3/4 ton (terrible ride, etc.) and non of the advantages (increased payload/towing ability). The stiffer springs are only part of what makes a 3/4 ton beefier. You will still have 1/2 ton axles, differentials, tranny, frame, etc. If you are after a little lift I think you will be better off (and spend less money) by adding a set of lift coils or Daystar coilspring spacers up front and a larger lift block or add-a-leaf in the rear.

i agree...the springs aren't the only thing that's gonna give you that bigger payload....you've still gotta worry about getting that much load moving and still be able to stop it......if you want lift, buy lift....if you want more payload, buy a 250...
