Question Raising The Torsion Bars??

Does anyone know how to go about raising the torsion bars on a '97 F-150? The front end of the truck is just a little lower than the back end and I want the truck to sit level. It's a supercab regular 4x4 with 17' sawblade rims and 285/70-17 BFG AT's. Any Ideas or suggestions would help. THANKS

find the right size wrench and give em some turns...usually 1-1/2 -2 turns is about 1in. of lift.

Right. Just turn each adjustment bolt an equal number of turns. Don't forget to get an alignment afterwards.

Hey, I appreciate the reply guys. I'm kind of new at this and I'm sure its been asked about a thousand times but after I raise the bars, is it going to cause any wear on the tires at any point? Also, how often do ya'll rotate your tires?

I used this step-by-step when I did mine a few years ago:

If you go too far you will increase wear on your CV joints. I rotate my tires every 6000 miles.

Ok...I have a few questions.....

I cranked on my torsion bars this evening and i measured from the bottom of my rim to the fender flares. First off, my back right sits right under an inch taller than my back left. I Dont know what is going on there. Then I measured the front and cranked my passenger side torsion bar 3 times and it raised it a little over an inch. I cranked my driver's side torsion bar 5 times and its still a little bit under an inch. Whats going on here? Should I keep cranking on both of them until I get it leveled out even if its 4-7 turns on each side? My back end sits about 32" and I want the front somewhere in there but I dont want to mess anything up by going to far. Any Ideas? :HELP:

I'd keep cranking them up. Just keep an evy on your CV joint angles.

Make sure ur on a 100% level surface. My '01 Supercrew 4x4 all stock suspension the way I park my right rear had 4"s from the tire & my left rear has about 6"s and my front left is like 1" higher than the right, but over at my parents flat cement garage floor all the same all around ( with the acception of the rear being higher with the stock lift blocks )

I finally got it. I appreciate the reply and input guys. My truck looks 10x's better now that it sits even. It always bugged me that the front sat a little lower than the back. Between the BFG AT KO's and the truck sitting level, it looks awsome. Thanks again...
