4 1/2 " Superlift ?

Anyone with the 4.5" Superlift and 35" tires have a measurement to center of wheelwell ? I want to compare to the 4" Rancho (44") given in Tripyn69's thread. Thanks

Again, I apologize for the delay. I had numerous "Honey-Dos" happening with Christmas decorations and other husband duties...

I was able to measure the truck today. 44.5" (level ground to center of front wheel well.) Hope this helps. BoB

So is it safe to say if I only run 33" tires I'll be sitting around 42 1/2" ? I don't think I'll run 35's

So Bob how much do you charge for lift installs if it's a super lift 4.5"? I figure the second one should go faster then the first

Thanks

I guess the math works. The Rancho 4" sits 1/2" lower than the Superlift 4.5" with the same height tire. My stock 2004 FX4 with 31" tires sits at 37" (front wheel well). So with a 4"-4.5" lift and 35s she'll go up about 7" up front!?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks Bob and contact me if you and your Superlift installation crew vist No. California

Do you know which lift your going with the Rancho or Super lift? If you go with the Rancho are you going with their shocks? If you go with the Super lift what shocks are people running?

Yeah the math works. I like the 6" lifts but I think that would make it to high and hard to load the dirt bike

every 2" of tire = 1" of lift, so 33's will make your truck 1" lower then 35's would. remember a tir is round u add 1" all around a tire and it makes the tire 2" bigger. hope this helps u guys

Are you picking "FUN" at me for the time it took to install my lift? I have a 26 year old son(Prime age and strong as a bear)that helped me. we spent about 4 hours a day(give or take 30 minutes)and we did the complete install over the weekend(two days) I did take the front drive shaft Monday morning for the rebalancing and rebooting required after the reclocking of the drive shaft(required per directions). To me the lift installation went very smooth. The directions come with check off boxes to the left of each step, this helps keep everything organized and prevents mistakes. I have a floor jack and small air compressor with a few pnuematic tools that made the job a little easier. Actually the most difficult part to us was installing the rear add-a-leaf. We had problems removing the countersunk bolts in the factory blocks... The blind head keep wanting to spin, we were able to "bind" the block and then the nuts came off. Overall the lift install went very smooth. I will add that, this is a two man job and I could not have accomplished this task by myself. After beginning the job I actually thought "Oh ****" I have bitten off more than I can chew.... My son stayed on track and positive. Even when I was "Freakin out". My truck had about 400 miles on it and I had the front axle laying in the drive way with parts everywhere... It did however come together and ended up being easier than I thought. BoB

Geez Bob, those feelings sounds awful familar; I was freaking out seeing my brand new trucks whole front end layed out in the garage. My buddy was the one with a level head and followed those check boxes to the letter. Me, I was more concerned about all that hardware that had to be re-installed and would we have any "extra" bolts at the end of the job-you always do. I agree, I would have never tackled this on my own-2 heads/hands make for a much smoother install! I really have to hand it to Muddy Ape-I think he did his alone and at all hours of the morning!

TripYN69... Do I ever agree with you on the above post. I just want to add that I was viewing your gallery and you have a VERY nice setup. The 4-Wheeler is Awesome(my youngest son races dirt bikes in District 29 here in North Carolina.) and your trailer looks super sweet, I like the decals, wheels and shape of the rig. And of course your truck looks BadA$$ with the lift and tire package. Do you actually race the quad? Jason, My youngest, races in MX, he rides an 05 YZF450. We travel to SC, Tenn. and VA. as well as in state to race. He was champion in his class last year(C-class). He is now running in the B-class and runs kinda of middle of the pack. After being a champion he is a little discouraged but I try to tell him he is only one step from PRO Class. Anyway just wanted to let you know that you have some nice Big Boy Toyz.

If you are ever up this way look me up or let me you are coming. I have about 26 acres and we built a practice MX track on about 7 acres for my son to ride/practice. Several nice doubles, some large table tops and a 160' triple... These new four strokes are awesome. I really like the sound and throttle response. We still have a 03 YZ250(2-stroke) but my son perfers the "Thumper" BoB

Thanks for the compliments and invitation Bob! If I am up that way this coming summer I will look you up! The only type of racing I do at my age is flying through the woods on tight X-Country trails-that 450 still scares the crap out of me everytime I get into it! Tabletops are a hoot, doubles are cool when you get the hang of them-but a 160' ft triple.....not sure about that one. Your son must be quite the rider-that is a BIG Thumper and some serious air of a triple that big! Having 26 acres with your private track would be heaven-nothing like getting your ya-yas out in your own back yard!

No BoB I wasn't picking Fun at you heck I just figured if I bought a superlift I could drive down from MD. and you could show me how to put it on
I respect anyone on this board that doesn't get phased by tearing into their $35K plus trucks and putting a lift on them or some of the other mods you all do. I would be happy if I could install a complete lift on my truck in the time it took you and your son. I want to do a lift of some sort and probably a troyer tune and tires and I'll be happy. However the lift will probably have to be done at a shop and finding a quality one can be scary, I don't trust just anyone with my daily driver. I'll pretty much tackle anything when it comes to maintenance or repairing my dirt bike or street bike but not the truck. I do normal maintenance on it but the other stuff is out of my comfort zone. Now that whole banks deal with full blown supercharger looked pretty sweet on the Trucks show on spike, to much money though.

This is to funny I'm into off-road motorcycles myself and race through the woods like tripn, but I do it on a bike 250 thumper just picked up a KTM with magic button(electric start) been on hondas for years but those thumpers can be hard to start after a stall or crash. Might try to travel up and down the East coast this year and do some GNCC racing and VCHSS series not sure yet. I ride the Senior class yep semi old mans class Yeah tripn your trailer and toyz look cool I need to get a trailer or toy hauler myself if I start racing the series I want to race.

Bob tell your son to hang in there with the racing he'll get better it kinda comes natural as you move up because he'll be riding with faster riders and he'll have to ride faster to keep up and that will happen with time. I started off in C then to B then to A then to Vet and now Senior Yep I'm addicted to it and it's a bad habbit and hard to break

Hillbilly, I have to give it too if you are going to try GNCC-very brutal on the upper body. I ride on a friends property where they held the Orange Crush last year-that is one tough course. Although, that is type of riding I like to do. I love the tight challenging trails with straight aways' where you can open her up. It was cool to watch the Ballance boys go at it, those guys never let of the throttle. Those trees get awful close at 50-60 mph let alone your competitors!

GNCC? I must ask what this is? My son races MX and we see some tracks that have Quads on them. We lived in Missouri for a while and viewed some "Hair Scrambles" racing which is kinda of an endurance race through the woods and over a 10 mile plus course. Buds Creek and another track in Western Tenn.(Muddy Waters I think) were the biggest tracks we have ridden... Thanks for sharing your hobbies and interest with us. BoB
