AS 2.5 kit = NO OFFROADING???
i installed the kit the other day, and we had noticed how close the control arm sat to the coil when the truck was on the ground wiht the stock wheel/tire setup.. but when the truck was off the ground, the whole Aframe and control arm drops, causing it to acutally hit or rub the coil.
when i put my 33's on last night, i saw that it was now even closer than b4 bc of the height increas from the tire. so now, when the truck is on the ground, the bushing from the control arm is only like 2 inches from the coil.. and if we try to jack the truck up from the frame..(doesnt touch the Aframe or cause it to lift with the truck) and if i jack it up, only like 2 - inches.. (the front) then the control arem rubs the coil.. so my point is.. if i even go over a speed bump to fast, it will hit the coil..
so basically i cant do any real offroading.. its not liek i do hard core stuff, but like doughnuts in the fields and playin in the dirt, and stuff.. is about all i can do... and thats pushing it.
basically wondering if anyone else had anything like this, and what they think.. i dont want to do anyhtign to break the control arm or the coil.. either of them snaping, would be VERY bad.

Do you have the new Offset autospring design? It was redesigned to prevent this problem..
Many users experienced this with the old design, however it never really caused a problem other than the dreaded noise..

or just deal with it- i wheel my truck, mud it, i live off-road in the mountains, haul stuff- did with 33's, and still do now with 35's... the autospring doesn't keep me from having fun- it actually give me the opportunity to have more fun with the increased space for my tires. if the suspension drops all the way it hits the a-arm- no biggie
thx for all ur input guys..
and i dunno if i can agree about goin offroad all the time and just lettin the wheel drop, and hit the coil etc.. for me, money doesnt grow on trees, and if u respect your stuff, it will respect you back.. the way i live.. but i do liek to go offroad everynow and then, play in the dirt and fields... and from the feedback im gettin, i guess its ok do that.. and about gettin a smaller spacer, im in love wiht my truck again, even more then when i first got it.. and about the suspension lift, it wont b for like a year. again, money doenst grow on trees.

of-course- im not beating the truck to hell either though- i wash it, and inspect the suspension carefully- whenever i do take it out. i'm not made of money either- im 23 i bought my truck- it means alot to me.. my autospring has 23k miles on it so far- the boots are still intact, the ball joints are still tight as new- there are no adverse wear characteristics present to date.
im glad to hear that.. specially with that many miles..
i noticed today, how much better the truck looks with the brush gaurd when its sits higher..
it is everyhitng i ever wanted.. tomarrow i am washing and waxing, i will get pics up.. after for sure..

I didn't realize that there are so many problems with the 2.5" kit. Now isn't the Daystar kit a coil spacer kit and not a strut extension lift?? I thought the strut lift was a lot better than the coil spacer. I didn't realize all these people are having problems.
you should go down to the 04-07 forum and search for the debates there- generally speaking, people post messages because they have a problem, and are looking for help, so naturally, the majority of the posts your may read, regardless of topic, may contain negativity- it is up to you to sort through all that, and make your personal opinion on the topic and go from there.
the daystar spacer is a coil spacer- you've got to compress the spring to install. the autospring is a strut extension- the install is faster and easier than the daystar, and achieves the same result. if i summarize the previous posts here this is what i get...
f150 BFDM: surpised by the angles produced by 2.5" AS
baloguk: 2.5" AS No Problems 23k miles on spacer.
thumpermx113: 2.5" Daystar, joints bad at 20K miles
and a couple other opinions on spacers.
...so, one actual problematic experience...

Seems that the problem is with the spacer like the Daystar unit is. Problem is not with the new Autospring strut extension lift. That is what I am getting.
-if you're still wanting more information, go down to 04/7 and read up- there certainly are people who have had ball joint problems with the autospring and many other competitors as well--- if not, post pics when you get it done!, good luck.
The Daystar type of spacer is not the 'problem' Every single spacer/leveling kit does technically the same exact thing and will effect everything the same except how they mount and how they are installed. If you believe the Daystar spacer/leveling kit is problematic than ALL spacer/leveling kits are problematic. .
Many more than just I have had the same bad results with different type of spacers.
PS: I had a Autospring 1-1/2" spacer/leveling kit on for about 5,000 of those miles.
