Leaf Springs

I was just wondering how many leaf springs you guys have on each side of your trucks. I was told by a mechanic at a truck modification shop that I had more (4) than he had ever seen stock on an F-150. He said that any that he'd seen had 3 on each side. The only thing I can think of, if this is true, is that I have a long bed which Ford may feel needs a little beefier suspension.

Just curious.

12?! That doesn't seem right... Anyway I don't believe it's a tow package considering that my truck doesn't have a hitch. I just assume that the tow package would come with a hitch. And 3.73 gears for that matter. I've got 3.55s. Who knows, maybe I'm just retarded.

The guy who told me this was supposed to be getting me new u-bolts because I was putting lift blocks under the leafs. When I spoke to him on the phone, he said he knew what size I needed, but when I went to pick them up, they were not long enough. I'm thinking he told me that just so he didn't look like as much of an idiot.

I think I was reading an article about Deaver springs in an off road mag. Is that the company that will basically make a custom set of springs for you? I was thinking about seeing if I could get a set of springs to eliminate the factory lift block on my truck.

Where are they located? I'm along interstate 8 about an hour from yuma, and 1 1/2 hours from San Diego.

04-05 F150 has 4 leafs total, 3in wide
06-07 F150 has 3 leafs total, 3in wide

Dad had an 05 and I have an 06, mine rides much smoother then his. Don't know why they changed it, but I think it had to do with the ride.

As for pre 04, Had an 02 fx4 4 leafs, 97 4x4 3 leafs, and of course these were the 2 1/2 wide leafs.
