Leveling Kit needed w/ suspension lift?

Hello -Please forgive my ignorance.

I am a bit confused about lifting my truck. It is an '06 STX 4x4 supercab currently stock. The main question is should I put a 2 or 2.5" leveling kit in it if I am planning on getting a 5 or 6" suspension lift at some point? I see some people appear to have both a leveling kit and a suspension kit on their trucks but isn't that duplicating? Why would you need a leveling kit if you already have a suspension lift? Or is the reason because even with say a 6" Fabtech suspension lift, the front of the truck is still sloped downward?

Thanks guys.

Most people stack the two lifts for more height so they can run a larger tire size.

Yes. Most 6 inch lift kits lift the front 6 inches and the rear 4 inches.
